Psalm 12, Part 1, Fiber Fun, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
I hope you're having a blessed day with joy, peace and love!  My week has been filled with writing, studying, playing with fiber arts, reading and a bit of time with friends.  I did have a different kind of day on Tuesday.
Our school district honors bilingual students by offering them the opprotunity to graduate with a Bilingual Seal added to their diploma.  My former student teacher invited some of my friends who are retired teachers and myself to serve on a panel that grants students the opprotunity to graduate with their Bilingual Seals!  I am humbled ...

Psalm 10, Fiber Fun - or not? Literary Life, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There!

I hope you had an amazing week!  We're going to several of my grandson's baseball games each week.  This weekend will be filled with his basketball games.  I love having this time with my family while the weather is still cool enough to attend.  Heat is my kryptonite, so soon I'll just be hearing about his baseball games rather than attending.

I finally had some time at home to play with fibers and read.  I listened to a fabulous audio book, The Phone Booth at the End of the World by Laura Imai Messina.  In ...

Psalm 9: 13-14, Literary Living, Fiber Fun, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you to everyone who stopped in last week!  It was fun to guest host Melva's Link Up and meeting so many wonderful people!  Thank you, Melva, for this wonderful opprotunity!  And thank you to all of you who linked up!
This week was jampacked with obligations every day - sometimes two or three in a day!  This weekend will also be full.  Thank God, most of these activities were fun!  As I wrote this post, I was surprised how much I did accomplish.  Usually things look worse in my head than the actually are.           After a few ...

Psalm 9: Part 3, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Welcome, and thank you so much for stopping in! Has Spring sprung in your neck of the woods? Here in Southern New Mexico, we have had a mix of hot, cool, and perfect temperatures.  I'm finding recovery slow going, probably due to a sinus infection developing a few days after I was diagnosed with strep.  Talk about a 2 for 1!
This week, I am happy to guest host Melva’s (from Melva Loves Scraps) Sew and Tell link-up. You will find the link at the bottom of this post.
Please grab your favorite beverage, sit back ...

Psalm 9, Part 2, Fiber Fun, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you so much for stopping in!  I sure hope you all are doing better than I am.  It's my birthday weekend and strep throat decided to crash the party.  I've been miserable, but am hopeful the coming week will be better.  My husband, who is an amazing cook, made me a big pot of delicious chicken/vegetable soup!  It's so soothing to my throat.  Thank You, God for antibiotics, my wonderful husband and chicken soup!
Before I got sick, my husband was also in to mood to paint my sewing room.  The walls are ...

Thank you for stopping in for a visit!  I hope you enjoyed last week's Parade of Behind-the Scene-Projects!  Every so often, I'll take a break from "our regularly scheduled programming" to bring you updates on those projects.  For now, I'll be sharing on Psalm 9 and a finished flimsy!  You'll also find a book review and some joy.
I'd love to hear about your Easter plans and your own reading and stitching projects in the comments sections.  As for us, we will have a family gathering, an Easter Egg hunt and plenty of giggles (I ...

Psalm 8 Part 1, Fiber Fun, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you for stopping in today!  Lately I've noticed a change in my mindset. While I enjoy my current fiber projects, there are so many hidden gems and long-lost UFOs I am also working on and want to share with you!
Next week, you’re invited to a 'Parade of Behind-the-Scenes Projects' to see my hidden fiber arts collection!   I'll share my progress via an occassional "break from the routine" posts.

For now, happy reading, sewing, and enjoying whatever else you love to do!
Take good care and, as Daddy used to say,

Psalm 7, Fiber Fun, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you all for you sweet comments on my new header.  I was playing with blogger's layout and decided to go for it!  While we're talking about blogging, thank you all for your patience as I grieve Daddy.  I’m finally starting to comment and respond to your sweet comments again! As spring begins to peek around the corner, my joy is slowly returning. It feels strange, but wonderful to laugh, play with my grandbabies, and rediscover joy in everyday life again. It's fabulous to reconnect with all of you!

I had such a relaxing ...

Psalm 4: Part 1, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you so much for stopping by! It has been a creatively productive week with progress made on most of my goals. On a more personal note, I’ve begun reading a few books on grief. I know many of you are also walking through loss, just as I am grieving my daddy. They say it gets easier, but the pain never completely goes away.
My most valuable resource during this time is the Bible.  The Touchpoint Bible in the New Living Translation has been invaluable.
Last week, I was recommended two books that have helped me immensely ...

Matthew 6:33, Fiber Fun, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Welcome back! Are you settling back into a normal rhythm now that the holiday rush has faded? One of my favorite parts of the year is that quiet 'in-between' week from Christmas to New Year’s. For me, it’s a time for rest and reflection. After being "freed" from quaranting in my bedroom, I'm eager to get settled back into my home office.  However, I decided to leave my devotional materials in the cozy corner I created in my bedroom. I managed to tick off most of my goals, finish two great audiobooks, and watched a ...

Psalm 3, Fiber Fun, Literary Living, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you for stopping by! I appreciate your time and visit!  This week my son had the terrible after-COVID-migraines.   Last night he showed signs of improvement and even asked for pizza!  I think we may start with homemade chicken soup.  LOL!

So it’s been a pretty quiet week around here—lots of reading, sewing, and playing my Township game. I definitely set a timer, because that game can be surprisingly time-consuming. My grandchildren are thrilled that I’ve finally joined them in an online game, and they’ve been patiently—and very gently—showing me the ropes ...

2 COR 4:3-4: Remove the blinders! Literary Life, Fiber Fun from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you for stopping by!    I hope you all had a fun week!  Is fall in the air in your part of the world?  My last two weeks have been filled with doctor appointments, reading and crafting.  I did spend a day and a half in bed after an endoscopy.  Thank goodness all results are normal!
My husband has been a dear, taking over chores and spoiling me with special treats.  Have you tried Helados de Mexico in the pecan flavor?  I highly recommend them.  Just remember, they're like Lays Potatoe Chips, "You can't eat just ...

Ezekiel 36:27, Fiber Fun, Literary Life, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,

Thank you for stopping by!    It was another busy week with more doctor appointments, gatherings with friends and various sewing groups.  Toward the end of the week I caught a cold, hence today's late publication.  I'm taking care of myself and know I'll feel better soon.  Mama tells me it takes a good 7 days to feel right as rain, so I'm looking forward to that.
Fall is in the air!  I'm looking forward to making my yummy pumpkin quick bread, soups and stews!
I love reading your thoughts and coversing with you ...

Isaiah 49:50, Romans 8:28-29, Fiber Fun, Literary Life, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,
Thank you for stopping by! Saturday was our first Flower Box Friends (see Fiber Fun) class at Be Sew Creative in Las Cruces, NM and it was awesome!  I found my slow stitching people!  Rejoice!  After a brief lesson and discussion, we sat for two hours stitching, visiting and sharing tips!  Oh such joy! Though I've been hand sewing since a child, there's still so much to learn and friends have great tips and tricks to share.
This week I have Sit and Sew at Be Sew Creative, stitching with my Colcha Embroidery Group and then ...

Psalms & Proverbs Fiber Fun, Literary LIfe, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

 Hello There,
Oh what a week it has been.  We've been in San Diego with some members our family.  My husband and I will be heading home tomorrow and begin picking up the pieces of our lives again.  I haven't accomplished a lot of goals, but have started a shawl for myself and am experimenting with sock yarn to make a summer/fall  shawlette.
Take good care and, as Daddy used to say,

"Make memories; it's later than you think."

Faith...broken faith...faltering faith.  Here, I will share a Scripture about these ...

Hebrews 12:1-3, Fiber Fun, Literary Life, Finding Joy from Faith, Trust and Breast Cancer

Hello There,

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week. My son-in-law surprised us Saturday morning with a big, delicious breakfast—eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, green chile with meat, fresh fruit salad, and coffee. Yum! We spent the morning listening to the grandbabies share about their lives, and my eldest grandson even gave a presentation on the three-castle kingdom he created in Minecraft. It was wonderful.

Take good care and, as Daddy used to say,
"Make memories; it's later than you think."

Hello There,
Thank you for stopping by!  I've decided to conclude our study of verses for those with faltering faith this week and begin our study of Darien Cooper's devotional written for Hind's Feet on High Places by Hannah Hurnard's next week.  The intorduction and especially the preface alone were so encouraging!
As we've been traveling, many of my fiber and reading goals have been set aside.  Mama is doing as well as can be expected.  We are all supporting each other through this difficult time.  Thank God, we are a unified family filled with ...

Hello There,
Welcome!  I'm so glad you're here today!    As I shared last week, my precious Daddy has passed away.  He is greatly missed - it feels so unreal.  I continue to draw comfort from Psalm 23.
Thankfully, I can distract my mind as my subconscious continues to process this tremendous loss with machine sewingwhich requires all my concentration.
Your comments and emails have been of great comfort.  Though I'm behind in responding, I've read each of your emails and comments.  Thank you so much.  My family and friends have been sharing their memories of my ...

Hello There,
As you know, my daddy has been ill for some time. Sadly, my precious Daddy passed away earlier this month. People have called to share their memories of him. Now the stories he used to tell me about  his life they bring me comfort and joy.   As soon as my husband is feeling better, we will be going to San Diego.

Thank you all for your prayers for him and our family during his illness.
Take care and hug the ones you love more than ever before.

Hello There,

Thank you for stopping in! I hope you’ve had a wonderful week.  This week was the last day of time with my grandkids until their next long break.  I’ve enjoyed having them this summer and am eager for our next “Ama Day”.  They call me “Ama” and the days we spend together are “Ama Days”.

Daddy is declining quickly.  His body is tired.  God willing, we are planning a trip to San Diego after my husband is feeling better and can safely travel.  Meanwhile, I am working on fiber arts projects behind-the-scenes, diving into God's ...
